Who Are We?
The University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG) is a student-run organization founded in 2006. Its goals are to provide information about careers in Internal Medicine, foster communication with faculty, connect students with research opportunities, and improve clinical skills and knowledge applicable to Internal Medicine.
The group is affiliated with the American College of Physicians and the JABSOM Department of Medicine, which generously provide its funding.
What is Internal Medicine?
Internal Medicine is the specialty centered on the prevention and nonsurgical treatment of adult diseases. Internists may practice general internal medicine or may undertake additional training in one of medicine’s subspecialties:
